READY TO BUILD!
The Bonsall Sprouts Garden
Committee is excited to announce that we are ready to build our planter beds!
As many of you know, throughout the summer and fall we have been fundraising
and writing for grants to raise money to build our Garden. Thanks to our wonderful
community, dedicated volunteers and awesome families we raised over $13,000 and are ready to get the Garden
started. Our first step is to build our planter boxes. We would love for you to
join us as we tackle this project on Saturday, February 9th, starting at
9:00am. We will meet out at the Garden which is just beyond the track. We will
have water, coffee and snacks available for all volunteers. If you are able to
help out, RSVP to Garden Volunteer Day by emailing: racheldee11@gmail.com. For
safety reasons, we are asking for only adult volunteers for this first building
project.
As we enter the next phase of
building our garden, we will need volunteers to help in many ways. If you have
a special skill that you think would be useful to the school garden or just a
general love of gardens and would like to assist with the building and
maintenance of the school garden please contact us at bonsallsprouts@gmail.com.
We need as many volunteers as possible to build this garden and keep it maintained.

Garden Update
Thank you to all the generous families of the Bonsall School District for donating over $700 in the School Garden Pledge Drive and Back-to-School Night Plant sales. We received a special donation of $500 from the Pato family and a $500 donation from the Angel Society! And last weekend at the Bonsall Country Festival, Bonsall Sprouts hosted a booth with Rock Painting and Pumpkin Decorating, as well as a Plant Sale and raised $600. So we've raised over $2,000 in the past 6 weeks thanks to all of our supporters.
We are hoping to reach $3,000 which is the goal for installing the planter beds and irrigation. We're really close everyone! Start clearing your schedules for a ribbon cutting ceremony in the beginning of November, its looking good for the students to be able to plant before Thanksgiving break to grow for a Spring Harvest.
If you would like to donate your time or services to Bonsall Sprouts to build the planter beds, please contact us at bonsallsprouts@gmail.com.

Garden Status Update
Our garden is ready for the next phase of development....planter beds and gardening equipment! This may sound like an easy task however, we have 12 - 4 foot x 12 foot planter beds to build and fill with dirt! We are excited to get started but, once again, we are in need of donations and/or products & services.
Last week, Bonsall Elementary Students received a donation flyer in their communication folders that had a donation envelope attached to it. We hope everyone will be able to reach deep in their pockets to spare a few dollars to get the planter beds installed by November to that the students can plant for a Spring Harvest season. If you know someone or are someone, who can donate materials to build the planter beds please feel free to contact us at bonsallsprouts@gmail.com.
We will also be hosting a Fundraising Booth at the Bonsall Country Festival on Saturday, October 6th, 9am-4pm in Bonsall River Village. We will be in the Kids Area offering Pumpkin & Rock Painting and having another fabulous Plant Sale! Please pencil us in on your calendar and come out to support the garden. We are also in need of volunteers to help at this fundraiser. If you can help out anytime between 9am-4pm please email Rachel Thomas or Jaime Pacheco at bonsallsprouts@gmail.com.

Please come check out the awesome selection of plants we will be selling and support the Bonsall Sprouts Garden. However, this installation was very costly and we still need donations to help defer this expense and the upcoming cost of installing the planter boxes. If you would like to help, please email us at bonsallsprouts@gmail.com. We hope to see you Next Saturday at Major Market!!

Garden Installation Update
Bonsall Sprouts is officially preparing for the installation of the first phase of the School Garden at Bonsall Elementary. With the help of R.D. Jones Landscape Construction, we have started the installation of the irrigation in the designated garden area. In just a couple of weeks, Quality Fencing will be installing the 4 foot perimeter fencing for our garden, which will be 25 ft. x 95 ft! After the fencing has been installed, we can move forward on placement of the 12 individual planter boxes that will be constructed. The month of August will be a busy time for the construction of the garden as we make our best effort to get it ready for the start of the school year.
We are having another Plant Sale Fundraiser this Saturday, August 4th in Daniel's Market Parking Lot at 9am-6pm. The cost of Fencing and Planter box materials is very expensive and we are hoping to receive enough donations to cover these costs before the school year starts.
