Garden Update

Thank you to all the generous families of the Bonsall School District for donating over $700 in the School Garden Pledge Drive and Back-to-School Night Plant sales.  We received a special donation of $500 from the Pato family and a $500 donation from the Angel Society! And last weekend at the Bonsall Country Festival, Bonsall Sprouts hosted a booth with Rock Painting and Pumpkin Decorating, as well as a Plant Sale and raised $600.  So we've raised over $2,000 in the past 6 weeks thanks to all of our supporters.

We are hoping to reach $3,000 which is the goal for installing the planter beds and irrigation.  We're really close everyone!  Start clearing your schedules for a ribbon cutting ceremony in the beginning of November, its looking good for the students to be able to plant before Thanksgiving break to grow for a Spring Harvest.

If you would like to donate your time or services to Bonsall Sprouts to build the planter beds, please contact us at bonsallsprouts@gmail.com.

Garden Status Update

Our garden is ready for the next phase of development....planter beds and gardening equipment!  This may sound like an easy task however, we have 12 - 4 foot x 12 foot planter beds to build and fill with dirt!  We are excited to get started but, once again, we are in need of donations and/or products & services.

Last week, Bonsall Elementary Students received a donation flyer in their communication folders that had a donation envelope attached to it.  We hope everyone will be able to reach deep in their pockets to spare a few dollars to get the planter beds installed by November to that the students can plant for a Spring Harvest season.  If you know someone or are someone, who can donate materials to build the planter beds please feel free to contact us at bonsallsprouts@gmail.com.

We will also be hosting a Fundraising Booth at the Bonsall Country Festival on Saturday, October 6th, 9am-4pm in Bonsall River Village. We will be in the Kids Area offering Pumpkin & Rock Painting and having another fabulous Plant Sale!  Please pencil us in on your calendar and come out to support the garden.  We are also in need of volunteers to help at this fundraiser.  If you can help out anytime between 9am-4pm please email Rachel Thomas or Jaime Pacheco at bonsallsprouts@gmail.com.

Last Summer Fundraiser!

We are hosting one more Plant Sale to finish out the summer break!  Saturday, August 25th from 10:30am to 6:00pm at MAJOR MARKET in Fallbrook!
Please come check out the awesome selection of plants we will be selling and support the Bonsall Sprouts Garden.  Last week our fencing for the garden was installed, we now have our dedicated area for the garden.  However, this installation was very costly and we still need donations to help defer this expense and the upcoming cost of installing the planter boxes.  If you would like to help, please email us at bonsallsprouts@gmail.com.  We hope to see you Next Saturday at Major Market!!

Garden Installation Update

Bonsall Sprouts is officially preparing for the installation of the first phase of the School Garden at Bonsall Elementary.  With the help of R.D. Jones Landscape Construction, we have started the installation of the irrigation in the designated garden area.  In just a couple of weeks, Quality Fencing will be installing the 4 foot perimeter fencing for our garden, which will be 25 ft. x 95 ft!  After the fencing has been installed, we can move forward on placement of the 12 individual planter boxes that will be constructed.  The month of August will be a busy time for the construction of the garden as we make our best effort to get it ready for the start of the school year.

We are having another Plant Sale Fundraiser this Saturday, August 4th in Daniel's Market Parking Lot at 9am-6pm.  The cost of Fencing and Planter box materials is very expensive and we are hoping to receive enough donations to cover these costs before the school year starts.

Another Great Plant Fundraiser

Well, we had another great success at our plant fundraiser yesterday in Bonsall, CA.  We made just over $600, AGAIN!  And the good ol' SoCal July Heat just about wilted the volunteers instead of the plants. However, we are thrilled over the excellent progress in our fundraising efforts. We would like to thank all the businesses that donated plants:  Grangettos, Cal Cactus, R.D. Jones Landscape Construction, Maker of Natural Gardens, Mike's Flowers and Palm South Nursery.  We encourage all our supporters to visit our sponsors and partners for all your gardening needs, please click on any of the business names to be directed to their websites.  Once again, BEF would like to acknowledge all the volunteer support who puts these events together, our Garden Committee, friends, family, PTA members and teachers, you all did a fabulous job!

BUT WAIT.....We still have plants available for sale!!
We were unable to sell all the inventory that we received from the local nurseries so we need your help to sell it via word of mouth or email.  Please come back to this site this weekend to read a list of trees we have availble for just a $10 donation or the list of vegatables and succulants that are yours for an even smaller donation!  Check back in a couple of days, after we've taken stock of everything that is still availble.  Thank you for your support!

Our First Fundraiser Success!

Our Plant, Flower & Cookbook Fundraiser at Hot Summer Nights in Downtown Fallbrook, CA was a HUGE success!  We want to thank Waterwise Botanicals, Mikes Flowers and Carol's Garden for donating all the beautiful plants and flowers and Lauren Brimmer for donating a large quantity of her highly rated cookbook.  The fundraiser was our first blush at getting our garden started and we now have some seed money to get the ball rolling.  We appreciate everyone who stopped by and took the time to hear us talk about the garden project and we hope to see everyone at our next major fundraiser at Daniel's Market on July 11th.  Special note of appreciation for all the Bonsall Sprout Garden Committee members and Bonsall Education Foundation Volunteers who helped get this event together in such a short time frame and generate interest in the program (Andrea Bruninger, Jennifer Smith, Jaime Pacheco & Rachel Thomas - Our Garden Committee Chairpersons, and our resident Garden Diva who we would not have been able to do half as good without - Lisa Lane)  All you ladies Rock the Garden better than Gnomes!
